Environment Committee

We should all be concerned about the changing environment and there is something you can do – get involved with the schools’ environmental initiatives. We run them to help to improve our local school ground with
rewilding effort. Like planting a hedgerow or to educate, enthuse and make you want to care about the wildlife and the local area. We can all make a difference locally, however small, but together we can make the difference globally significant and worthwhile.

We meet every Tuesday in B10 lunchtime. More information about what we do and recent projects can be found here

STEMM Club

This is a skills award to support and inspire the next generation into STEMM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine. Students aged 13-19 can work towards a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award by undertaking STEMM-based activities at school, at home or online and logging them onto a personalised e-portfolio, leading to a STEMM Youth Award.

Further information on STEMM at Springwood can be found by clicking here.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

The DofE Scheme is incredibly popular with our students.  It is offered to students at Bronze, Silver and Gold award level and includes developing skills, volunteering and an expedition. For more information on the DofE Award Scheme at Springwood High School click here.

Trips and Overseas Residential Visits

We believe school trips provide a great opportunity for active learning and foreign residential trips can be a great way to broaden students' horizons.

Our students are given the opportunity to take part in a variety of trips and excursions. To view those that are currently available please click here.
