Friday the 6th December saw Springwood host our first ever year 9 trust “invention challenge”. Loosely based on the Ready Steady Cook programme our students created 2 dishes in 1hour 30 minutes. Students all had access to a range of ingredients including, meat, fish and all the store cupboard staples. They had 5 minutes to work in teams of 2 to come up with their creations (no recipes allowed).

It was a fantastic morning of teamwork, laughter and food creativity.

Students from the four trust secondary schools were all a credit to themselves and their schools. 

Mr Wills played the role of Paul Hollywood on the day and picked the 3 top teams anonymously, with the two teams from Marshland gaining 2nd and 3rd place and the top team being awarded to Springwood.

It was such a successful event that we have decided to make it an annual occurrence and rotate the host school.
