We know Springwood High School is a great place to be, but you don’t need to take our word for it, as our students are full of praise for the school too.

Here are comments from just some of our 2024 Year 11 and Year 13 graduates, who recently collected their exam results.

Among our high-flying GCSE students this year were Eva Kablina, Zion Noble and Oliver Oliveira, all of whom have chosen to return to Springwood Sixth Form in September to continue their studies.

“I’m pleased to be taking my A Levels here, because it’s been great at Springwood,” said Eva, whose longer-term plans include studying Economics or Maths at Cambridge. “All the teachers have always been supportive of me. Even before GCSEs started, in Years 7, 8 and 9, they were always happy to help me.”

Zion, who joined our school in Year 10, said: “It’s been a really positive experience at Springwood. The teachers are great, and now I’m hoping they can help get me into university, where I hope to study law.”

Oliver added: “It’s been amazing at Springwood. All the teachers are really nice, and I’ve made loads of friends. It’s a very welcoming school community.”

Our Year 13 leavers were equally positive about their time at Springwood, which is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.

Ren Griffiths, who is going to study Human and Political Sciences at Cambridge University, said: “I will miss Springwood. I’ve enjoyed it here. I’ve made some really good friends and I’ve felt supported by the staff throughout my time here.”

Lexie Ampomah, who will now take up a place to read Archaeology and Anthropology at Oxford University, agreed: “I’ve always been happy here at Springwood. The teachers have been amazing – so supportive, and they have great knowledge about their subjects.”

Mackenzie Whitehouse-Baker, who is also off to Oxford, and will study Philosophy, Politics and Economics, shared his classmates’ favourable view of Springwood.

“I have been here since Year 7, and I have loved my time here,” he said. “The school has always been really supportive, and I’ve made lots of friends during my time here.”

Fellow sixth former Vinethmi Kulasinghe will be studying Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at UCL. “I have loved my time at Springwood,” she said. “I don’t think I would have liked to have gone anywhere else. The teachers have been incredible with me.”

Finley Meehan, who is leaving to study Music and Sound Recording at the University of Surrey, added: “ I’ve really enjoyed my time at Springwood. The teachers are great. There’s always been a positive atmosphere here.”
